Official Launch - 17th June 2004

Under the Chinatown Enhancement Plan spearheaded by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Chinatown Night Market has been identified as one of the key focal points for Chinatown. STB aims to develop this Night Market into a vibrant one-stop shopping, dining and entertainment hub in Chinatown.

The idea is to reconstruct the once bustling street markets of Chinatown¡¯s past with the Chinatown Night Market, featuring a total of 215 stalls lining the Pagoda, Trengganu and Sago Streets. Local residents and visitors will be treated to a nostalgic offering of wares and services by artisans of vanishing trades including clog makers, calligrapher and Chinese opera mask painters. Enjoy an unforgettable shopping experience with the wide selection of items ranging from handicrafts, fashion apparels, electronics goods, jewellery, trinkets, modern home accessories and local food items.
